Your casting is based on the how you present yourself during your audition. Specifically, you will be scored on pitch, stage presence, character and preparedness. The pitch category is broad, but basically means how well you can sing the material. Stage presence means how you present yourself during the audition (HINT- you should not look like you just rolled out of bed. Put some effort into your appearance and show that you take this process seriously and that you care!). Character means how much of the character are you showing us through the singing of their song. Do NOT show us what you think we WANT to see- Show us who YOU think the character is. Preparedness means JUST that. Know the song. Know the character. Do your research. (and HINT- MEMORIZE!!!)

Once you decide what role or roles you would like to audition for, you prepare the song that THEY sing. Do not prepare a song for a certain character and then ask to be considered for a different character listed on this page. That doesn’t make sense, right? We need to hear you on the song that the character sings. In the event that you would like to be considered for a smaller role NOT LISTED on the audition page, then you should simply choose the song that you feel fits your voice best.

You may audition for up to 2 characters, which means you can choose 2 songs to sing during your audition.

AS ALWAYS- NO ONE IS REQUIRED TO AUDITION. ONLY THOSE WHO ARE INTERESTED IN BEING CONSIDERED FOR A MAIN ROLE. HOWEVER-

MAL- Our hero and Maleficient’s daughter; under her hardened, sarcastic exterior, she has a sense of justice and a heart of gold.

EVIE- the Evil Queen Grimhilde’s daughter; hides her brilliance behind a superficial, image-obsessed attitude.

JAY- Jafar’s Son; an outwardly arrogant thief, he conceals a strategic, collaborative nature.

CARLOS- Cruella De Vil’s son; despite a fear of dogs and just about everything else, he has the capacity to be brave and kind.

MALEFICENT- the infamous evil fairy; a profoundly selfish absentee parent with an unquenchable taste for vengeance.

BEN- son of the Beast and Belle; a classically regal, optimistic kid who bears the weight of soon becoming the King of Auradon.

AUDREY- Sleeping Beauty’s daughter, the malicious queen bee of Auradon Prep, she has her eye on the throne.

CHAD- Cinderella and Prince Charming’s son, an arrogant and spoiled blockhead, he’s never wanted for anything.
